Fact: Your Costa Rica itinerary should include volcanoes! After all, how often will you have the chance to traipse old lava flows and active volcanic slopes?

Volcanoes exploration

The closest neighbor to Finca Rosa Blanca, Barva Volcano lies directly above the resort and is a you-may-be-the-only-one-here one, lagoon-in-the-clouds kind of place. Here, you’ll stand on the continental divide and, on a clear day, you may be able to see both the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea.

Another close neighbor, Poás Volcano is an active volcano that rises to 8,885 feet. Here, you’ll stand at the edge of one of the biggest craters in the world, overlooking a simmering volcanic lagoon bubbling with active fumaroles. Or, take the longer drive to Irazú Volcano, a towering and active volcano surrounded by bare moonscape.

Join us on one of our Costa Rica volcano excursions to explore these beautiful volcanoes, mountains and cloud forests, and to discover wild rivers and cascading waterfalls, big cats, quetzals, tapirs and eagles. After your wonderful morning adventure, you’ll enjoy an authentic Costa Rican lunch at one of our local mountain restaurants.
