Frequently Asked Questions

This is a description of questions you might have and some details about our Inn. If you still have any questions, don't hesitate to write to us at reservations@fincarosablanca.com

Check in time begins at 2:00 pm. If you should arrive earlier at Finca Rosa Blanca, we will do everything possible to have your room ready. However, if you should have to wait for your room to be ready don’t waste any time! Go ahead and take a refreshing swim in "our pool with a view" or enjoy one of our many fascinating tours. The resort’s check out time is 12:00 noon. If you would like to leave later in the day, please consult the front desk to make appropriate arrangements, and if possible, we will be happy to accommodate you.

Most visitors to Costa Rica arrive in San José at the Juan Santamaría International Airport which is located about 20 minutes by car from Finca Rosa Blanca. If you are already in country, you may also be arriving to San José on either SANSA or Green Airways the two domestic airlines. Both these airlines leave from a small terminal adjacent to the Juan Santamaría International Airport in Alajuela. The terminals are only is 20 minutes by car to Finca Rosa Blanca. Some guests also fly in from abroad to Liberia which is a 4-hour drive or one short domestic flight of about 45 minutes. We would also be happy to arrange a private charter flight from any destination in Costa Rica to Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Farm and Inn. Let us know your arrival times, and we will be happy to arrange to pick you up in our air-conditioned vehicle.

Costa Rica’s currency is called the Colón. However, while you are staying at Finca Rosa Blanca, cash will not be necessary. All your expenses can be charged to your room and when you check out, we will accept US dollars, Colones and VISA, MC or AMEX credit cards. We cannot accept traveler's checks.When going on tours or visiting San José, the capital of Costa Rica, or any of the smaller towns and cities around the Inn, carrying one, five and ten US dollar bills would definitely be recommended as well as some local currency. Most businesses and restaurants accept US dollars. Euros and other currencies are not commonly accepted in Costa Rica. We will gladly exchange your US dollars for Colones at the front desk. However, we cannot give you dollars in return for Colones or as change.

The Resort’s dress code is informal. Guests are encouraged to bring lightweight, casual clothing, a poncho, hats, sunscreen, a bathing suit, sturdy shoes or hiking boots for activities and nature hikes. National airline flights have a 25 lb. baggage limit per person. If you are staying at the Resort upon arrival and leaving Costa Rica from the Resort we can store your extra luggage for you. And don’t worry about bringing extra clothing, since the lodge usually can offer same day laundry service.

Costa Rica has passed very strict non-smoking legislation. It is prohibited to smoke in all public places. Please beware that you are not going to be able to smoke on our premises during your stay. Thank you for understanding.

There are many hospitals and clinics within a radius of 10 miles. We have several doctors and pharmacies are on call for minor health related problems. San José offers excellent state-of-the-art hospitals and treatments by doctors often educated in North America or Europe. In fact, it is not uncommon for some North Americans to come to Costa Rica to perform their dentistry and minor surgeries due to its excellent reputation and less expensive prices.

No immunizations, shots, inoculations or vaccinations are required to enter the country, except for those arriving directly from some South American countries, in which case a current certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever must be presented.

All our 14 suites have their own luxurious bathrooms and showers and many have Jacuzzi tubs and bidets. The comfortable suites have housekeeping twice daily which includes a turn-down service in the evenings. Our guests have 24-hour access to the Reception/Front Desk and the hotel does not have a required minimum stay except in some cases when purchasing special offers.

All rates are for double occupancy. Add $50.00 per night plus tax for any additional adult, $25.00 per night plus tax for each child from 4-11 years old. There is no charge for children under 3 years old.

All rates are per room, per night, and do not include government taxes (currently 13%). We may not be able to accommodate your party in the same room for the quantity of nights which you are requesting. Cancellation Policy: All reservations must be paid in advance unless other conditions are specified. We accept cancellations without any penalty up to 15 days before arrival in green season and high season, and 30 days in the holiday season.
